camping & Parking
Black wooden sign with the word ‘CAMPING’ painted in white
Whether this is your first time attending Tiny Lights or if you have been here before, you may have noticed that we strive for sustainaibility in all aspects of the festival. This also applies to camping and parking.
As you can imagine, at a festival with TINY in the title, we must be very creative with our use of space and resources, including how much room we have available for the influx of festival goers.
Camping at Tiny Lights is simple and cozy, and is an opportunity for you to be close to your fesitval community and enhance your festival experience. We try to work with the needs of each camper, while acknowledging the limited space that the beautiful town of Ymir provides. Please understand this minimalist camping experience that the festival provides, and we will try to meet your individual needs as best we can.
Be aware that camping is ONLY allowed in designated areas.
Accessible Camping
We have created Accessibility Zones for ease of access to more durable transport terrain and motorized support recharge stations are available on site as well. If you require one of these sites, please contact our Accessibility Co-ordinator Alison at : inclusivetinylights@gmail.com
TENT CAMPING
Tent camping is available in our camping area in our sustainability village, with easy access to vendors and our village stage. Tenting passes are sold on a per-tent basis.
VEHICLE CAMPING
Vehicle camping is for cars, vans, pickups with campers or trailers less than 15 ft. that are NOT attached to the towing vehicle. Any vehicle bigger than a van is considered an RV.
RV CAMPING
RV passes are limited and do not include hookups of any kind. Any vehicle over 16 feet is considered an RV.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Passes are sold on a per tent/per RV basis
Car/Truck/Van or Unattached Trailer camping is a VAN size or smaller - any vehicle that is towing a trailer that cannot be separated, or any vehicle bigger than a van is considered an RV.
If you purchase camping online, you will be issued the appropriate tags at the gate when you check in. Tags must be displayed in a visible spot on the exterior of your tent, vehicle or RV to provide visual confirmation of payment to our camping patrol.
There are limited spaces available so book your space early.
Please be aware that we are a mountain town, and though it may be May, it COOLS OFF QUICKLY at night, so be prepared. We do not have shower facilities or electrical hookup with our camping at this time, but we do have world-famous Ymir water. We also have outhouses and porta-potties available.
Please be bear aware, as we share habitat and have bears frequent our town. Please lock food and other attractants in your vehicle. You can get more info on bear awareness here.
BE PREPARED FOR RAIN WITH TARPS AND GROUND SHEETS AND FOR COOLER WEATHER WITH APPROPRIATE CLOTHING AND A GOOD QUALITY SLEEPING BAG. All but one of our venues are indoors but camping is outside.
Be aware that your vehicle may not be next to your campsite if you are tenting.
If you have more questions, you will likely find the answers on our Camping FAQ page.
